Kindness To Children in The City Of David

Kindness To Children -  An overdue  thanks from a parent....

In 2011,   my wife and I traveled to Israel with my 4 children.  As these things happen, my daughter got a fever while exploring Jerusalem.

Unlike the US,  pharmacies are not on every corner in the old city.  We were late waiting on line at the  City of David  and I asked the women at the ticket sales desk for directions to the nearest pharmacy to buy  acetaminophen.

Quickly, they asked what the problem was. I explained that my 9-year-old daughter had a fever.

Without blinking an eye, the woman quickly asked her coworkers where the first aid kit was and offered me acetaminophen.  “ Is one enough?   You are visiting.   Please take 3 so that you will have time to find a pharmacy."

She took the medicine, perked up and off we went on our tour.

Since that time I've  often thought about this kindness.   Could there be a  more fitting place to demonstrate generosity to strangers and  kindness to children?
